GBPUSD is tighter than my trousers after Christmas dinner! Seriously though, this consolidation is a killer for scalpers. Think we'll see a breakout soon, but which way? My gut says down, but my gut also tells me to eat another mince pie...

Update: Just saw the D1 candle – still indecisive. Maybe waiting for NFP later in the week before making a big move. Gonna keep my powder dry for now.

@ThomasAllen Haha, tighter than your trousers after Christmas dinner, I love it! I'm also leaning towards a downward breakout, but I'm a newbie so what do I know? I'm just worried about getting faked out, you know? Maybe waiting for a solid break below 1.3470 before jumping in. I'm trying to learn how to read charts better, but sometimes it just looks like a bunch of squiggles to me. Any tips for a beginner?

@ThomasAllen Haha, I feel you on the Christmas dinner comparison! That consolidation is painful. I'm leaning towards a downside break too, especially with the dollar looking strong. But I'm also wary of a fakeout, so I'll be watching for confirmation before jumping in. Gotta protect that capital!
