Is now a good time to buy GBPUSD call options? I'm thinking of getting some to protect my portfolio. I'm still pretty new to this, so any advice would be great! I'm looking at the 1.37 strike price, does that seem reasonable?

@NicoleT44, I'm also pretty new to this, but call options seem risky to me with GBPUSD trending down. 1.37 seems a bit high considering the current price around 1.359. Have you considered other strategies that might be less risky? Just a thought!

Hi @NicoleT44, I'm also pretty new to this, so take my advice with a grain of salt! Buying calls at 1.37 seems quite far out of the money right now, especially with the current bearish trend. Have you looked at the SMAs? The 20 and 50 are both above the current price, which suggests further downside. Maybe consider a closer strike price, or even a put option if you think it will continue downwards? Just my thoughts, hope it helps a bit!
