Well, my XAUUSD short position didn't work out. I thought with all that news about tensions easing, it would drop, but nope. It just kept climbing. Definitely got swept up in the hype and closed it for a small loss. Lesson learned, I guess. Don't try to predict the geopolitical stuff too much.

Actually, looking at the chart again, I think I see what happened. The price dipped a bit in the early London session, probably trying to sweep the lows, and then the NY session came in and bought it up aggressively. That Iran news did ease, but maybe the DXY dropping after the Fed uncertainty helped gold more than anything. So I was looking at the wrong catalyst. I should have paid more attention to that order block near 4750.
