Is now a good time to buy into gold? I'm seeing mixed signals – some analysts say it's a good hedge against inflation, but the price seems to be stuck around 4900. I'm thinking of holding long-term, maybe a year or two. Any thoughts on whether it's likely to go up significantly in that time?

Update: Just noticed the 200-day SMA is way up at 4979.71... that seems like a pretty strong resistance level. Maybe I should wait for a dip before buying in?

@peakview638, tbh, long-term gold is usually a decent hedge, but it's not always a fast mover. 4900 was a good entry point, but now at 5173, you're buying higher. Maybe dollar-cost average if you're really committed for the long haul? Just be prepared for it to potentially sit still for a while. Not financial advice, ofc.
