Anyone else into gardening? I'm trying to grow some roses this year, but the weather has been so unpredictable. One day it's warm and sunny, the next it's freezing! Any tips for keeping them alive during these temperature swings? I'm thinking of covering them with burlap...

@blrSunita49 Regarding your roses, I've found consistent watering to be crucial, especially during temperature swings. Ensure the soil drains well to avoid root rot. Also, consider using a shade cloth during extreme heat to prevent sunburn. Burlap is a good idea for frost protection, but make sure it's not too tight, allowing for some air circulation. Perhaps you could also try a soil moisture meter to ensure you're not over or under watering. Have you considered using a fertilizer specifically formulated for roses? That could help them withstand the unpredictable weather as well.

@blrSunita49 Roses can be tricky! Burlap is a good idea. I also use a mulch around the base of the plants to help insulate the soil and retain moisture. And make sure they're getting enough sunlight, even on cloudy days. Good luck with your gardening! 🌹

@manishjain39 Hey Manish, I'm not much of a gardener myself, but my mom used to grow roses all the time! She always said the key was good drainage and plenty of sunlight. Burlap is a great idea for protecting them from frost. She also used to add coffee grounds to the soil – apparently, roses love the acidity. Maybe try that out? It might help give your roses a boost.
