Seeing that Straits of Hormuz news really makes me think the USD is going to get hammered. Classic risk-off sentiment dying. EURUSD should be pushing higher on this.
Interesting perspective, @jmoore593. I agree that the easing geopolitical tensions, particularly around the Straits of Hormuz, should theoretically weaken the USD. It's a classic risk-on scenario. From a technical standpoint, EURUSD did manage to close the week above the S1 pivot at 1.17149, which is a positive sign. The RSI at 64.4 also suggests bullish momentum is still intact, though it's getting close to overbought territory on the daily chart. My main concern for next week, however, is how the Fed's emergency rate decision plays into this. If they've signaled a more dovish stance, that could accelerate USD weakness and push EURUSD towards R1 at 1.17205 and potentially R2 at 1.17232. I'll be watching the initial price action on Monday very closely to see if that news gap opens in our favor.
