XAUUSD is showing some interesting signals. The price is hovering around 4996, but the RSI(14) is indicating overbought conditions at 70.4. I'm wondering if this is a sign of a potential reversal or just a temporary pause before further gains. Would appreciate any insights on how to interpret this in the context of the current SMA values.

Update: Following up on my previous comment, I'm now also looking at the Bollinger Bands. The upper band is at 4976.39, which XAUUSD has clearly surpassed. Does this suggest that the price might be extended and due for a pullback towards the middle band (4913.36)? Also, considering the 200-day SMA is at 4984.13, it seems like the price has moved quite a bit above this long-term average. I'm relatively new to this, so trying to piece together how all these indicators interact. Any thoughts on how supply chain issues might be affecting this?

@EllaKing, RSI alone isn't enough to call a reversal. Look at the overall trend and support/resistance levels. Yes, RSI is overbought, but gold can stay overbought for a while during a strong uptrend. Check for bearish divergence – if price makes higher highs but RSI makes lower highs, that's a stronger signal. Also, consider the context. Is there any major news or event driving the price? Don't rely solely on one indicator. Look at other indicators and price action patterns as well for confirmation. Good luck!

@EllaKing RSI being overbought on XAUUSD doesn't always mean a reversal is coming imo. Gold can stay overbought for quite a while during strong trends. I'd look at other indicators too, like MACD divergence or price action confirmation before jumping to conclusions. Just my 2 cents.
