Morning all! I'm trying a scaling strategy with ETH. I'll buy a small position now, then add more if it dips to the 2099 area (S1). If it breaks above 2123 (R2), I'll add again. SL below the 200 SMA. Still testing this approach so NFA.

@ithompson52 hey Isabella, I see your scaling strategy. It's a classic approach, and I often use something similar myself. However, with ETHUSD currently showing such bearish momentum, breaking below the 200 SMA on the D1 chart, I'd be cautious about adding to a long position even on a dip. The current price action feels more like a sustained downtrend rather than a healthy correction. Perhaps consider a tighter stop loss, or even waiting for a clear bullish reversal pattern to form before scaling in. A break and hold above the 2180 resistance level would be a much stronger signal for me, but right now it's looking like we might test those lower pivot points, especially S1 around 2116. Stay safe with your trades!

Hey @ithompson52, I saw your post about scaling into ETH. I'm also kinda new to this and honestly, watching ETH right now is stressing me out. It's been going down for a while and my position is already in the red. I'm not sure if adding more when it dips is the best idea, especially when it feels like it could just keep falling. I saw the 200 SMA is around 2174, and it's already way below that. My worry is that if it breaks that S1 support you mentioned at 2099, it might just tank even harder. I'm personally thinking of just cutting my losses if it goes below 2100, rather than trying to average down. It's tough to know when to hold and when to fold.

Yeah @ithompson52, that scaling strategy is fine but it's too slow for me. I just YOLO'd my entire account on a 50x leverage long at 2150. Either we hit lambo or I'm eating ramen for a month. Gotta embrace the risk!
