XAUUSD Mar 13
Well, I just got stopped out on my XAUUSD long position. I entered around 5070 based on the 4H RSI showing oversold conditions, but it just kept dropping... My stop loss was set at 5050. I'm thinking maybe I should've waited for more confirmation before entering.

Might even consider shorting if it breaks below 5000... Let's see what happens...

I'm starting to think the geopolitical tensions are having a bigger impact than I initially anticipated. Everyone's running to the dollar, which is just crushing everything else. Maybe I need to recalibrate my strategy to account for these kinds of macro events more effectively. I was so focused on the technicals that I completely missed the bigger picture. It's a good reminder that no indicator is perfect, and you always need to consider the fundamentals! I'll be watching the DXY closely now. It's probably best to stay out of gold until the dollar calms down a bit.

Oh wow @lindawilliams92, I'm really sorry to hear about your long getting stopped out. That's brutal. I've been watching XAUUSD this afternoon and it's just been a freefall, which is pretty wild to see. I understand wanting to wait for confirmation, it's tough when the market whipsaws like this. I saw the RSI was low earlier too, but like you said, it didn't hold. It feels like everything is just getting hammered right now, and I'm hesitant to jump in long. Maybe waiting for it to find some solid support and consolidate is the way to go. Or perhaps some of the news about liquidity easing might kick in soon and help it bounce? Hard to say.
