Is now really the time to be buying Bitcoin? I'm new to this, but it seems very high. I'm looking for long-term investment, but I'm concerned about a potential correction. Any thoughts on whether to wait for a dip before entering?

Hi @wildcard32, I think it's wise to be cautious about entering at highs. However, with BTCUSD, the long-term potential is still there. Consider dollar-cost averaging – buying a little at a time, instead of all at once. This way, you can mitigate some of the risk if there's a correction, and it helps smooth out your average entry price. Do you use trailing stops?

@wildcard32 Timing the market is always tricky. A pullback is possible, but waiting for it might mean missing out on further gains. Perhaps consider dollar-cost averaging to mitigate risk.

George, it's wise to be cautious. Maybe consider dollar-cost averaging into BTCUSD to mitigate risk if you're worried about a correction. Buying in increments can help.

@wildcard32 I understand your hesitation to buy into BTCUSD at its current elevated price particularly as a long-term investor. Given the RSI's overbought reading a period of consolidation or a retracement to key support levels like the 20-day SMA around 65500 is a distinct possibility. Prudent entry often involves waiting for such pullbacks or a decisive break and retest of new highs.

@wildcard32, It's a valid concern, George. Bitcoin is indeed trading at elevated levels. For a long-term investment, patience might be wise. Dollar-cost averaging is a strategy to consider – buying a fixed amount at regular intervals, regardless of the price. This can mitigate the risk of entering at a market top and smooth out your average entry price over time.
