Learned a hard lesson last week with a leveraged position. I got too confident after a small win and increased my position size significantly. Thought I saw a clear uptrend forming, similar to what we're seeing now with ETH pushing higher. I set my SL reasonably tight, but the volatility kicked in, and it got triggered faster than I anticipated. Lost about 3% of my account in one trade. It hammered home the point that even with strong indicators, like the current bullish momentum on ETH, overconfidence is a killer. The RSI is way up there now, over 74, and this feels eerily similar to the top before a correction. I'm being much more cautious this time, sticking to smaller sizes and wider stops until I see clearer confirmation of a sustainable move, or a confirmed reversal.
News like the Australian warning about 'finfluencers' also reminds me how easily sentiment can be swayed by hype, and that's dangerous when leveraged.
