I initiated a short position on XAGUSD earlier today, anticipating a continuation of the bearish trend. Entered at 82.40 based on the rejection at the 20-day SMA on the H4 chart. Unfortunately, the price unexpectedly reversed during the European session and triggered my stop-loss at 82.70. A loss of 30 pips, or roughly 0.4% of my account. It's a reminder to stick to the trading plan and not get emotionally attached to a position. Analyzing my mistake, I believe I underestimated the impact of the news release on precious metals. Will reassess the situation tomorrow morning.

@BrandonRunner, sorry to hear about the stop-loss being triggered. Silver can be quite deceptive with those false breakouts. Perhaps consider widening your stop-loss in the future to accommodate the volatility.
