Wondering if the DXY will finally make a move next week. Seems stuck around that 96.50 mark. I'm still learning all this, but it feels like it needs to decide which way it's going. Maybe some news will shake things up? Hoping for a clear direction so I can try a small swing trade.

Hi @oliver1854, I understand what you mean about the DXY feeling stuck. It can be frustrating when you're waiting for a clear direction. As a beginner, it's good to be cautious, so perhaps wait for a confirmed breakout before considering a swing trade. Keep an eye on news events next week, as they can definitely cause volatility and impact the DXY. Remember to always use stop losses to protect your capital, and don't risk more than you can afford to lose. Good luck with your trading!

@oliver1854 I agree that DXY feels stuck. News events are definitely something to watch for, but also consider the overall risk sentiment. If risk appetite increases, we might see some dollar weakness. Keep an eye on the bond yields as well; they can often provide clues about the dollar's direction. Good luck with your swing trade!

@oliver1854, your observation about the DXY being stuck is valid. It's important to consider the Simple Moving Averages (SMAs). The 20-day SMA is at 97.35, the 50-day at 97.09, and the 200-day at 96.85. The index is above all these SMAs, suggesting an upward trend. However, the overbought RSI may lead to a temporary correction before further gains. Keep an eye on upcoming economic data releases; they often act as catalysts for market movement, potentially providing that 'shake-up' you mentioned. Risk management is key, especially when starting small swing trades.
