With the market closed for the weekend, I've been reviewing the XAUUSD chart. While Friday's close at 4676 was somewhat disappointing after the earlier dip, the fact it didn't fully break lower is interesting. I'm considering if there's potential for a gap opening on Monday, especially if any significant news breaks. My strategy for next week will likely involve waiting for confirmation of direction rather than chasing early moves.

Hello @jturner901, it's always wise to review the charts over the weekend. I'm also keeping a close eye on XAUUSD. While Friday's close at 4676 did show some resilience after the dip, the overall trend remains somewhat bearish, especially with the 20 and 50 SMAs currently acting as resistance. I'm not expecting a significant gap up unless there's some major geopolitical news or a surprise economic data release. The current price action seems to be consolidating around the daily pivot point. I'm curious to see if the S2 pivot at 4648.7 can hold if we see further downside pressure today. The RSI is sitting in neutral territory, so it's not giving a clear oversold or overbought signal yet. We need to see how the New York session plays out.
