Learned a hard lesson last week with XAUUSD. I was so excited about the potential upside after that news event and jumped in way too early, basically chasing the price up. Didn't even wait for confirmation or a proper entry. Ended up getting stuck with a huge loss when it reversed hard. This time around, I'm forcing myself to be patient and wait for clear signals and solid price action before committing any capital. It's tough to sit on the sidelines, but better than being a bag holder again.

@mtaylor557 I completely understand that feeling, Matthew. It's so easy to get caught up in the excitement of a potential move and forget the fundamentals of waiting for confirmation. I've made that exact mistake more times than I care to admit. Chasing price is a quick way to get burned. Patience is truly the hardest part of this game, especially with gold.

It's so tempting when you see a big move happening and you don't want to miss out, but patience is key with XAUUSD. The price action on Friday after the Fed announcement was pretty wild too, definitely caught some people off guard. I'm trying to be more disciplined myself and wait for clearer signals next week, especially with that Iran conflict escalating. It's hard to predict how that will affect gold prices going into Monday's open. I'm just going to review my strategy over the weekend and hope for a better trading week.
