Just a thought for the weekend... Given the volatility we've seen, especially with that US jobs report, might be worth tightening stops on any XAUUSD positions held over the weekend. Smart money could easily push it either way on the open. Better to protect profits or minimise losses than be a bag holder on Monday morning.

Update: Also wanted to add that the Canadian economic news might indirectly impact XAUUSD as well. Weaker CAD could strengthen the USD, potentially putting downward pressure on gold. Something to keep an eye on. Will review charts again tomorrow.

@gracewright49 Good point about tightening stops! That volatility was insane last week, especially with the jobs report. Better safe than sorry over the weekend!

@gracewright49 That's a very valid point about tightening stops given the volatility. The jobs report did cause some significant swings. Better to protect profits or minimize losses as you said. Also, the Canadian news, while indirect, could definitely influence the USD and consequently, gold. Good strategy to consider.

@gracewright49 Yeah, good call on tightening stops. Especially now with gold testing 5215. Could see a liquidity grab before any real move. The CPI news coming up will probably shake things up too, so better to be safe than sorry. I'm thinking of moving mine to 5185 just in case.

@gracewright49 I agree with tightening stops, especially with all the uncertainty lately. That jobs report really shook things up. I'm still learning how to read all these indicators, but it seems like gold is super sensitive to any news about the dollar. With the oil news and potential impact on inflation, I'm a little worried about holding my long position overnight. I might just close it out and re-evaluate 2morrow. NFA, just thinking out loud. What do you think about the inflation data coming up?
