You know, I'm trying to be more disciplined with my risk management these days. For USDJPY, I'm setting my SL at least 30 pips away from entry, and if it goes against me by 15 pips, I'm just closing it. No more chasing losses or getting greedy. It's all about preserving capital so I can trade another day, especially with this volatility.

Hey @williamwhite, I hear you on the risk management front. It's so crucial, especially with pairs like USDJPY that can move quite a bit. Your approach of setting a 30-pip stop and cutting losses at 15 pips is a solid discipline, though I might personally give it a bit more room on a swing trade. For me, on USDJPY, I tend to set my initial stops at least 50-60 pips away, depending on the volatility, and then I'll trail it once the trade moves in my favor. I also found that sometimes you need to let a trade breathe a bit; a quick 15-pip move against you doesn't always mean the whole setup is invalid, especially if it’s just a short-term fluctuation before resuming the trend. But yeah, definitely agree with you on not chasing losses. Friday's close was a bit of a surprise with that dollar weakness, so I'm curious how that plays out next week and if it impacts USDJPY at all. Keep up the disciplined trading!

Totally agree with you @williamwhite about the risk management, especially with USDJPY. It can be a real monster if you let it. Setting stops 30 pips out is smart, and cutting losses at 15 is even better. I've been burned too many times by letting trades go too deep into negative territory, thinking they'll turn around. That's how you blow up an account fast. What I'm trying to do is also use order blocks for entries when possible, and then trail my stop to breakeven as soon as I'm in profit. It's not foolproof, but it definitely helps me sleep better at night. Glad to see someone else focusing on survival first, profit second. It’s the only way to stay in the game long term.
