XAUUSD Feb 18
Gold's been consolidating for a while now. We're seeing a lot of back and forth, struggling to break above 4930 consistently. Geopolitical tensions are simmering, but not quite boiling over enough to send it soaring. I'm watching for a catalyst – something significant to push it one way or the other.

Update: still watching this consolidation pattern. The SMAs are giving mixed signals as Jack mentioned. 20-day is below the 50, but both are well below the 200. That longer-term trend is still bearish, but we need to see a sustained break above 4940 to really challenge it. I'm keeping an eye on the news flow, any major escalation in Ukraine or the Middle East will likely send gold higher. Risk management is key here, so I'm keeping my position size small until there's more clarity. A break below 4900 could signal a further drop too, so setting a tight SL is crucial.
