I've been trying a scaling in and out strategy with BTCUSD, especially with all this volatility. I start with a smaller position, say 0.2 BTC, and if it moves in my favor, I add another 0.1. If it goes against me, I might add a bit more, but only if it's near a strong support level, like around 69500. Then, I take profits gradually as it rises, selling off 0.1 at a time. It helps manage the risk, but it does mean you don't catch the full profit if it really moons!

And another thing about scaling... it's not a perfect strategy, oh no. Sometimes, BTCUSD just decides to crash, and my average entry point is still too high! So I always, always have a stop-loss in place. Usually around 1-2% of my total portfolio. It hurts when it hits, I won't lie, but it's better than losing everything. Also, news like the 'Green Shoots in Crypto Market' can make me more confident in adding to my position, but I still don't go all in at once. Slow and steady wins the race, or at least keeps me in the game longer!

@roguewave266 Scaling is interesting, but yeah, those flash crashes can be brutal! I prefer to wait for confirmation before adding to a position. Maybe look at the 20 SMA for confirmation, or even the bollinger bands. If BTCUSD breaks below, it's probably not the best time to add.

@roguewave266 I agree, scaling can be risky with BTCUSD. Those flash crashes are brutal, like you said. I prefer to wait for a confirmed breakout or breakdown before adding to my positions. I think watching the 20 SMA like @IsabellaAnderson30 suggested isn't a bad idea, but remember that SMAs lag. I'd also keep an eye on volume to confirm any moves.

@roguewave266 I feel you on those flash crashes. Scaling in sounds good in theory, but BTC is brutal sometimes. I'm still learning, so maybe a dumb question, but how do you determine a "strong support level"? Just looking at previous lows, or is there more to it? Trying to get better at this stuff. NFA of course.
