XAUUSD Dec 21
I'm observing a potential long setup on XAUUSD. The price is currently trading above all three SMAs (20, 50, and 200), indicating a bullish trend. I'm waiting for a pullback towards the 20 SMA around 3868.72 to enter a long position, with a stop-loss just below the 50 SMA at approximately 3864.94. Target is R1 pivot at 3888.52.

@OrbitRun50, thank you for your analysis. As a beginner, I am curious: How do you determine the precise stop-loss level? Is it based on a fixed percentage or a specific chart pattern? I appreciate any insight.

@OrbitRun50 I think your long setup is interesting, but I'd be cautious about relying solely on the SMAs, especially with the Iran news. The market could easily gap up or down on Monday's open, invalidating your entry and stop-loss levels. Consider waiting for confirmation of the pullback and maybe look at some Fibonacci retracement levels to identify potential support areas more accurately. Also, what's your risk/reward ratio on this trade?
