This USDJPY chop reminds me of that crazy period back in late 2022, remember? We had a similar situation with the BoJ intervening and the market just consolidating for weeks. People were saying the same thing, 'no volume, dead market.' Then suddenly, BAM! It broke out with insane force. I remember going full margin short then and getting absolutely rekt because everyone was expecting a drop, but it ripped upwards instead. This current quietness, especially with that dollar weakness chatter, feels a bit like that setup where everyone's looking the wrong way. I'm not saying it's identical, but the market loves to trick you when it's this slow. Gotta be ready for anything when liquidity is this thin, it can move fast on minimal news.

Hey @awilson734, yeah I remember reading about those crazy consolidations. This current chop is making my head spin though. I'm still pretty new to this and trying to figure out what's what. You mentioned it broke out with insane force, makes me wonder if we're heading for something like that again. I saw the news about the Middle East stuff, and it feels like that's making the dollar stronger against the yen. But then I see prices like 159 and I just get scared I'm going to buy at the top. It's hard to tell if this is just noise or the start of something bigger. I'm just trying to not lose my shirt on this one.
