Interesting to see the Canadian dollar trying to shake off some losses ahead of their retail sales data. But honestly, the bigger story for me right now is the yen's weakness despite the BoJ's hawkish signals. That kind of divergence can't last forever, and it's often a sign that something bigger is brewing under the surface. It makes me question the stability of USD/JPY at these levels, and by extension, how it might influence other dollar pairs.

This kind of conflicting news flow - strong oil, weak yen, and potential data surprises - is what makes trading challenging but also rewarding. I'm looking at GBPUSD and wondering if this yen weakness will eventually lead to some broader dollar strength that could drag the pound lower, or if the Middle East tensions will force a flight to safety that benefits the dollar more broadly. It's a bit of a tangled web this evening.

Interesting point about the yen @KeenTrail2. I saw that headline about the dollar weakening too, which is definitely odd with all the global risks right now. It makes me wonder if we'll see some interesting moves next week, maybe even a gap on GBPUSD depending on how the sentiment shifts.
