Just had a bit of a scare with a short position I opened yesterday. Was watching XAGUSD hover around 80.80, thinking it was ripe for a fall. Set my stop loss a bit too tight, as is my usual habit, and it got triggered on a minor pop. Then, of course, it turned around and went down. A classic case of being a tad impatient, I suppose. Lesson learned: sometimes patience with the price action is more valuable than a tight stop.

That's a tough one, @ChefNoah. It’s always disheartening when your stop loss gets triggered on a minor fluctuation only for the price to move in your intended direction afterward. I’ve found that with XAGUSD, especially when it’s showing such clear bearish momentum like now, setting stops a bit wider can sometimes prevent these premature exits. The current RSI is deeply oversold, so there's definitely a counter-trend bounce potential, but the trend is king until proven otherwise.

Ah @ChefNoah, don't sweat that stop loss trigger. It happens to the best of us, especially when you're trying to catch a falling knife with tight stops. Honestly, my strategy is less 'stop loss' and more 'hope and pray'. I saw XAGUSD getting hammered, that Idaho permitting news or whatever it was about mining projects, and just YOLO'd my whole account on a short at 70. If it gets rekt, it gets rekt. But if it keeps dropping like it did today, that's a whole lot of profit. Sometimes you gotta just embrace the chaos and see what happens, you know? Trading is 90% luck anyway.

Hey @ChefNoah, I totally get that! It's so frustrating when your stop loss gets hit right before it moves your way. I'm actually considering going long on XAGUSD around here, but I'm being super cautious with my position size because of that fear of it sweeping the lows. Hope it works out for you next time!
