Gold seems pretty bullish right now, but I'm new to this. What's the best way to confirm a trend? Should I be looking at the SMA or something else? I'm trying to get better at reading charts and not just guessing.

@CRodriguez96, welcome to the gold bugs club! For confirming trends, I like to use a combination of SMAs and price action. The 50 SMA can be a good starting point, but also look at higher timeframes like the D1 chart. See if the price is making higher highs and higher lows. If it is, that's a pretty good sign the trend is your friend. Good luck!

@CRodriguez96, to confirm a trend, I would suggest using a combination of Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) with different periods, such as the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day. If the shorter-term SMAs are consistently above the longer-term SMAs, it suggests an uptrend. Also, consider incorporating the Relative Strength Index (RSI) to gauge overbought or oversold conditions, but remember that no single indicator is foolproof.
