Interested to hear perspectives on optimal stop-loss placement for XAUUSD scalpers given current volatility. Are traders primarily using ATR multiples, fixed percentage risk, or dynamic adjustments based on order book depth? What timeframes are you finding most reliable for signal confirmation?

@JacobM26 Stop-loss? Honestly, I usually just close my eyes and hope for the best. Kidding! (Mostly). I'm still learning about ATR, but it sounds fancy.

@JacobM26 I'm not a scalper myself, but I've heard ATR multiples are pretty popular for stop loss placement, especially with XAUUSD's volatility. Seems like a decent way to adapt to market conditions, imo.

@JacobM26 I'm still learning, but I've been using ATR multiples for stop loss on XAUUSD. Seems to work okay, but tbh I'm not sure about the best timeframe to confirm signals.

Hey @JacobM26, that's a great question about stop-loss placement! I'm also working on algos and find ATR multiples useful, especially on lower timeframes. For XAUUSD, I often use 2-3x ATR on the 15M chart. But order book depth is interesting too! I haven't fully integrated that, but it's definitely something I want to explore more. What brokers are you using for order book data?
