Took a short position based on that initial drop this morning, targeting 5080. Almost hit it but got stopped out at 5090. Lost about 0.5% on that trade. Should have held a little longer given the RSI being oversold now. Gotta stick to the plan next time.

Oil jumping like that might keep gold down longer term though. Deflationary pressure is gone if oil keeps rising.

@QuantumLeap58 Ah man, getting stopped out is the worst, especially when you think you were right. I feel you on that. This quiet market right now is making me jumpy too, just watching XAUUSD hover around that 5000 level. Remember that news about gold struggling below 5000 despite tensions? That's playing out. I'm thinking any attempt to go long here might just be a dead cat bounce until we see clearer direction. Maybe wait for London to open and see if liquidity picks up. I'm definitely not FOMOing into anything at this price, just gonna let it breathe. Might even call it a night soon, this sideways action is making me sleepy.
