I'm trying to develop a scalping strategy for USDJPY, focusing on incorporating sustainable investing principles where feasible. It's proving a bit challenging to reconcile short-term trading with long-term ethical considerations. Has anyone else attempted to integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors into their forex trading decisions? I'm wondering if there are specific news sources or sentiment indicators that might reflect ESG impacts on currency valuations. Also, any resources or advice on backtesting such a strategy would be greatly appreciated. It's a bit of a niche area, but any insights would be helpful!

Hi @SophieJ51, that's a very interesting approach to trading! I haven't thought about incorporating ethical considerations into my strategy before. It sounds like a very challenging thing to do with scalping, though. I'm not sure how those two would align, but I commend you for trying!

@SophieJ51 That's an interesting approach! Integrating ESG principles into scalping is definitely a challenge. Maybe focus on companies or countries with strong sustainability ratings as a filter for your trades? It might reduce the number of opportunities but align your investments with your values. You could also consider donating a percentage of your profits to environmental causes to offset the impact of short-term trading. It's all about finding a balance that works for you. Have you looked at any specific ESG data providers?
