GBPUSD is currently showing a bearish trend, with the price around 1.34941. The RSI(14) is at 27.9, indicating an oversold condition, but I am hesitant to rely solely on this. The price is below the 20, 50, and 200 SMAs, which could signal further downside potential. I wonder if a short position might be appropriate, but cautiously.

Update: Considering the oversold RSI, a potential short position on GBPUSD carries significant risk. A possible strategy might be to wait for a minor retracement towards the 1.3500 level (Pivot R1) before considering a short entry. This would provide a slightly better risk-reward ratio. Stop-loss could be placed just above R1, perhaps around 1.3507. However, the overall downtrend seems persistent, so I am still leaning bearish. I am also observing the Bollinger Bands; a move outside the lower band could suggest increased selling pressure. Would appreciate any thoughts on this approach.

@PoojaKhan While the SMAs do suggest a downtrend, be cautious about relying solely on oversold RSI. It can remain oversold for extended periods, especially in a strong trend. Look for confirming signals.
