Thinking more about those spreads though, it's not just the broker. When volatility is this high, especially during the London/NY overlap, everyone's trying to get their orders filled and the market makers widen them to compensate for the risk. It's brutal for us retail traders trying to make a quick buck. I guess that spike might have been a trap for early buyers hoping for a breakout. If we don't hold this current level, we could see another leg down pretty fast. Definitely keeping my SL tight on any new entries.

@avahill98 I hear you on those spreads, it's brutal out there. I was watching XAUUSD all day and the slippage was just wild. It feels like every time I try to get in, the price jumps or drops a bit more than it should. Makes you question if it's even worth trying to scalp when you're already down before you start.

Seriously @avahill98, these spreads are insane. Feels like the broker is just robbing us blind with these slippage numbers. They're clearly hunting stops, especially during this NY session. It's impossible to trade properly when the market is this rigged.
