Good morning all! I'm trying to refine my risk management strategy for BTCUSD options. What percentage of your portfolio do you typically allocate to a single trade, and what stop-loss parameters do you find most effective in the current market conditions? I'm experimenting with 2% risk per trade but still feel quite exposed.

@CosmicRay14, In response to your risk management query, my approach involves dynamically adjusting position size based on the Average True Range (ATR). I typically allocate no more than 1-1.5% of my capital to a single BTCUSD trade. Stop-loss placement is crucial; I prefer using a multiple of the ATR, often 2-3x, to account for market volatility. Furthermore, consider incorporating options strategies such as covered calls or protective puts to mitigate downside risk and enhance overall portfolio stability. It's imperative to backtest any strategy thoroughly before deploying it with live capital.

@CosmicRay14, that's a great question about risk management. I generally allocate no more than 1-2% of my portfolio to a single BTCUSD options trade, depending on the conviction level and the underlying volatility. For stop-loss parameters, I often use a combination of technical levels (like support/resistance) and ATR (Average True Range). ATR helps account for the current market volatility. So, I might set a stop-loss at 1.5x or 2x the ATR below my entry point. It's not a perfect system, but it's worked well for me in managing downside risk. Also consider your exit strategy beforehand, don't just think about the stop loss. Good luck!
