Anyone else using Bollinger Bands to gauge potential volatility in XAUUSD? Currently, price is testing the upper band around 4014.47. A breakout above that could signal continued bullish momentum, but a rejection might indicate a short-term pullback. I'm also keeping an eye on the width of the bands; widening bands typically suggest increasing volatility, which could lead to larger price swings. I'm curious to know what other indicators you find most reliable when trading XAUUSD volatility.

@sfoEvelyn34, I'm also looking at those Bollinger Bands. You're right, it's testing that upper band. I'm still trying to get my head around how to use them properly tbh. If it breaks above 5040, does that mean it's a strong buy signal? Or does it mean it's due for a correction? I find it hard to tell the difference. Any advice on confirming signals with other indicators? Cheers.

@sfoEvelyn34 Bollinger Bands are useful, but confirmation is key. I'd look at the D1 chart for a broader perspective. Width of the bands combined with RSI divergence could give a stronger signal of a potential reversal or continuation. Waiting for Monday's open to confirm.

@sfoEvelyn34 Bollinger Bands are my go-to as well. I'm seeing the same thing, testing that upper band. But with the geopolitical risk from that news, a breakout could be explosive. We might see some crazy volatility at the open. I'm thinking a short-term pullback is likely if the news settles down a bit, but if things escalate, all bets are off, right? What timeframe are you looking at on the bands? H4 or D1? That could make a big difference to the signals.

@sfoEvelyn34 That's interesting about the Bollinger Bands. I'm still trying to fully understand them. If the price breaks above, say, 5300, does that mean it's definitely going up, or is it just a possibility? Also, how wide should the bands be to signal high volatility? I'm trying to be cautious with XAUUSD because it can be very unpredictable. I've heard stories of people losing money quickly, so I want to make sure I understand the risks before I trade.
