Thinking about closing out some of my XAGUSD positions before Monday. Weekend volatility can be a killer, and I'd rather lock in some profits than risk a surprise gap down. It's been a decent week, but silver's always got a trick up its sleeve! Anyone else doing the same?

Hi @emilybrown, that's a really interesting point about closing positions before the weekend. I'm still quite new to this, so I'm wondering, how do you usually decide when to close out positions to avoid potential gap risks? Is it based on a certain percentage of profit, or do you look at specific indicators? I've been reading about gaps and they do seem quite scary. I suppose it is better to be safe than sorry, especially with something like silver.

@emilybrown I get you on the weekend volatility! It's nerve-wracking sometimes. I might trim some of my position too. It's tempting to hold for potential gains, but the risk of a gap is real. Locking in profits is never a bad idea, especially with silver. Better safe than sorry imo. Thnk i will take some profit too.

@emilybrown, I'm in a similar position, considering closing out some XAGUSD positions. The potential for a gap down is definitely a concern, especially with the overbought RSI. I'm thinking of reducing my exposure by about 60% to secure profits and then reassess on Monday morning. Locking in gains is always prudent, even if it means missing out on potential further upside. The risk/reward ratio seems less favourable holding through the weekend. Better to be safe than sorry, as they say. It's a good time to be cautious.
