Hi everyone, I'm trying to understand risk management better. I've read that position sizing is key, but I'm finding it hard to determine the right size for my USDJPY trades. What percentage of my capital should I risk on a single trade, and how do you adjust this based on your confidence level and the pair's volatility? Any advice would be appreciated!

Update: I've been doing some more research on position sizing for USDJPY. I've come across the 1% rule, where you only risk 1% of your trading capital on any single trade. This seems quite conservative, but perhaps suitable for a beginner like myself. However, I'm also reading about using ATR (Average True Range) to calculate position size based on the pair's volatility. Does anyone have experience with this method, and is it more effective than the 1% rule? I'm particularly interested in how to factor in the overbought RSI on the D1 chart – does that warrant a smaller position size?

Hey @sophie90, a lot of people recommend risking no more than 1-2% of your capital per trade. Adjust it based on how confident you are in your setup and the volatility of USDJPY at the time.
