This sideways chop on GBPUSD around the 1.3530 level reminds me of that quiet spell we had back in Q3 last year. Remember when it just hugged the 50-day SMA for weeks? It felt like nothing was happening, but then it eventually broke out. This current action around the S2 pivot feels similar, just waiting for a catalyst.

Looking back, that period also had some geopolitical noise, though perhaps not as intense as the current oil situation. The key was that the 50 SMA acted as a strong support during that range. If history repeats, we might see similar resilience here if price dips towards 1.3518.
