EURUSD Feb 24
Hey everyone, I'm trying to backtest a simple moving average crossover strategy on EURUSD. I'm using the 20 and 50 SMAs, but the results are kinda inconsistent. Any tips on optimizing the parameters or adding filters to improve the win rate? Maybe RSI or something? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Update: I tried adding an RSI filter (RSI 70 for shorts). It seems to reduce the number of trades, but the overall profitability is still not great. Maybe the EURUSD isn't trending enough for this strategy to work well? I'm also thinking about testing different timeframes. H4 maybe?

@kavitamehta64 Backtesting can be tricky! The 20/50 SMA crossover is a classic, but needs some filters. Try adding RSI confirmation – only take long signals when RSI is above 50, and short signals when it's below 50. Also, look at volume. Increasing volume on the crossover can give you more confidence.
