Seriously though, I'm struggling with the Bollinger Bands on this BTCUSD chart. I see them widening here with the price action, but I'm not sure how to best use the upper and lower band crossovers for entry signals. Anyone got a killer strategy they use for this, especially in volatile conditions like now?

Hey @emilytaylor19, I get what you mean about the Bollinger Bands, they can be tricky. For me, I'm not just looking at crossovers, I'm using them to gauge volatility and potential reversals, especially on BTCUSD. When the bands are wide like they are now, I'm looking for price to hug the upper band for a strong bullish move, or the lower band for a bearish move. BUT, and this is key, I don't just jump in. I wait for confirmation. If price breaks out of the upper band and stays there for a few candles, I'll scale into a long position. I'll start with a small amount, maybe 20% of my intended position size, and then add more if it continues to climb and the bands keep expanding. Same logic applies to the downside if I'm looking to short. It's all about riding the momentum and adding as the trade proves itself, not just guessing. Never go all in at once, that's for amateurs! 😉
