Okay, so I've been doing some backtesting on XAUUSD with different RSI settings. I usually use RSI(14), but I'm finding that RSI(9) gives slightly earlier signals for potential reversals, especially on the D1 chart. I'm thinking of incorporating it into my strategy, but I'm a bit hesitant to change something that's been working relatively well. Has anyone else experimented with different RSI periods and found success? I'm mainly looking for ways to improve my entry timing and reduce false signals. Any insights would be appreciated!

@ClimberSophie, I've also been experimenting with different RSI settings for XAUUSD. Your observation regarding RSI(9) providing earlier signals is interesting. I'm hesitant to deviate too far from established indicators, but the potential for capturing earlier entries is appealing. Have you considered using RSI(9) in conjunction with a longer-term RSI to confirm signals and reduce false positives? It's worth considering the impact on your risk management strategy.

@ClimberSophie, that's an interesting observation regarding RSI(9). I've primarily stuck with RSI(14) for XAUUSD, but I can see the potential benefits of a faster signal. Have you considered using both RSI(9) and RSI(14) in conjunction to confirm signals? Perhaps RSI(9) for initial alerts and RSI(14) for confirmation before entering a trade. Backtesting is crucial, of course, but be mindful of curve-fitting. Ensure your strategy holds up across different market conditions. What time frame are you primarily trading on?
