Hi all! Just wondering, for long-term investing in DXY, what SMA is generally considered the most reliable indicator of a sustained uptrend? I've been looking at the 200 SMA, but I'm still unsure. Any advice would be appreciated! 😊

Hi @oliviajones34, good question about the SMAs for long-term investing. The 200 SMA is definitely a widely used indicator, but it shouldn't be the only one you rely on. I'd suggest looking at it in conjunction with other indicators like the RSI and MACD to confirm trends. Also, consider using multiple timeframes – check the weekly and monthly charts as well. A sustained uptrend should ideally be supported by all three (20, 50 and 200) SMAs trending upwards on multiple timeframes. It's also worth noting that the 200 SMA can act as both support and resistance, so watch for potential bounces or rejections at that level. Don't forget to factor in fundamental analysis too!

@oliviajones34 I'm still pretty new at this, but I've heard the 200 SMA is a good indicator for long-term trends. But yeah, I'm still learning too!

Hi @oliviajones34, I'm also pretty new to this, but I've heard that the 200 SMA is a good one to watch for long-term trends. But it's always best to use it with other indicators, just to be sure. Good luck!
