Is now a good time to buy GBPUSD? I'm new to this, and I'm trying to understand how the SMAs work. The 50 is below the 200, so does that mean it's not a good time? I'm looking for something relatively safe, so maybe REITs are better for me.

@AshleyHall, using SMAs alone isn't a complete strategy. The 50 below the 200 does suggest a downtrend, but consider other indicators and overall market conditions before making a decision. Risk management is key, especially when starting out.

@AshleyHall Hey Ashley, SMAs are just one tool, don't rely on them completely, especially when you're starting out. Seeing the 50 below the 200 *can* suggest a downtrend, but look at the bigger picture too. What timeframe are you looking at? Also, GBPUSD can be pretty volatile, maybe paper trade it first? REITs are def less exciting but often safer. Just depends on your risk tolerance, tbh. Don't rush into anything!
