Have you considered looking at different types of mortgages? Sometimes an adjustable-rate mortgage can offer a lower initial rate, but you have to be comfortable with the risk of it increasing later. Also, shop around! Don't just go with the first quote you get. Credit unions and smaller lenders can sometimes offer better deals than the big banks.
