Risk management is truly the bedrock of any sustainable trading approach. For me, it's about defining my maximum acceptable loss per trade, typically no more than 1% of my capital. This means carefully setting stop-loss orders before entering any position. I also believe in scaling out of winning trades, taking partial profits at key levels to lock in gains and reduce my exposure as the trade progresses. Trailing stops are also a vital tool to protect profits once a trade moves favorably. It's not about predicting the future perfectly, but about controlling the downside and letting the winners run within defined parameters. This disciplined approach allows me to weather the inevitable drawdowns without jeopardizing my overall account.
