I am trying to better understand how to interpret the RSI indicator in relation to ETHUSD. Currently, the RSI(14) is around 45, which I understand is considered neutral. However, the overall trend seems bearish based on the SMAs. How should I reconcile these conflicting signals? Does a neutral RSI in a downtrend suggest a potential reversal, or is it simply a pause before further decline? I would appreciate any insights on how to use RSI more effectively in my analysis. Also, what other indicators might complement the RSI to provide a more comprehensive view?

@michellehall It's a good question. When the RSI is neutral but the SMAs suggest a bearish trend, I look at the larger timeframe charts (H4, D1) to get a clearer picture. Sometimes a neutral RSI on the hourly chart is just a pause before a larger move down. Also volume is important.
