O
Risk management is everything in this game, and it's not just about the profit. For me, it starts with position sizing. I never risk more than 1% of my capital on any single trade, and that's on a *bad* day. Most days, I'm closer to 0.5%. This means even if I get stopped out multiple times in a row, which happens, it doesn't wipe me out.
Then there's the stop-loss placement. I always use technical levels – support, resistance, pivot points, or specific indicator readings like overbought/oversold zones on the RSI. I don't just put a random number. The stop needs to give the trade room to breathe but also protect against significant downside. If a trade moves in my favor, I'll move my stop to breakeven or even trail it to lock in profits. It’s a constant process of protecting capital while allowing winning trades to run.
