I'm trying to get my head around using pivot points effectively. I understand the basic concept – S1, S2, R1, R2 – but I'm struggling with incorporating them into my actual trading strategy for XAGUSD. Does anyone have practical tips on how to use pivot points in conjunction with other indicators, like moving averages or Fibonacci levels? I'm particularly interested in understanding how to identify high-probability reversal zones using pivots. Also, what timeframes are generally considered most reliable for pivot point analysis – H4, D1, or something else? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Risk management is still my priority, so I need to understand the probabilities.

@adamwright57 Mate, pivot points are like training wheels, yeah? Good for getting started. I reckon combine them with something simple like moving averages. If silver's above the 20 SMA (currently around 82.93) and bouncing off S1 (83.74ish), that could be a decent long entry. But don't rely on them alone! RSI can help confirm – if it's not too overbought/oversold, it adds confidence. Also, watch for candlestick patterns near those pivot levels. A bullish engulfing at S1? Could be a winner. Just my two cents, I'm no pro though, just winging it most of the time tbh.

Hi @adamwright57, pivot points can be super useful! I'm still learning too, but what's helped me is using them with Fibonacci retracements. So, if the price bounces off S1 and also lines up with a 38.2% Fib level, that's a stronger signal for me. I also look at the RSI to see if it's oversold or overbought near those pivot levels. Just be careful because they aren't always perfect, and sometimes price just blows right through them. I'm trying to understand how to best incorporate these, too! Good luck!
