Ugh, I hate when my broker widens the spreads right before a news announcement! It's like they're just waiting to steal my profits. I swear, I'm gonna switch brokers if this keeps happening. It's hard enough to make money in this market without them sabotaging me.

And it's not just the spreads, it's the slippage too! I put in a buy order at 98.30 and it fills at 98.35! Like, seriously??? That's a huge difference when you're trading with leverage. I'm starting to think they're intentionally doing it to take advantage of retail traders like me. Maybe I should start recording my trades as evidence... this is just getting ridiculous. I need to find a broker with tighter execution, even if it means paying a little more in commissions. It's worth it to avoid these shady practices. Has anyone else experienced this with their broker?
@theresa3659 I feel your pain about the spreads widening right before news announcements. Slippage is brutal too, especially with leverage. One thing I've found that helps a little is using limit orders instead of market orders when I'm trading around news events. It doesn't eliminate the problem completely, but it gives you some control over the price you get filled at. Might be worth a try?
