Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to trading gold. What do you guys think about the current downtrend? Is it a good time to buy now that it's around 4880, or should I wait for it to go lower? Any tips for a newbie would be appreciated!

Update: I'm looking at the Bollinger Bands now too. The price seems to be near the lower band (around 4840). Does that mean it's oversold and might bounce back up soon? Or could it break through and fall even further? I'm trying to understand how to use these indicators together...
@owright137 Hi Oliver, welcome to gold trading! Downtrends can be tricky. It's tempting to buy the dip, but always consider the bigger picture. Look at the D1 chart. Is the overall trend still down? Consider using smaller positions to test the waters, and always use a stop-loss. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, especially when starting out. Maybe wait for a clearer signal before jumping in headfirst. Good luck!

I'm also pretty new, but I've been reading that gold can be a safe haven, so buying during a dip might not be a bad idea long-term. But tbh, I'm still trying to figure out the best entry points myself. Maybe start small and see how it goes?
