For this current long trade, I decided on a position size that allows for a maximum 1% loss of my total capital if the stop-loss is hit. Given the current bullish trend and the breaking news from Iran, I felt comfortable increasing the size slightly from my usual 0.5% risk per trade. The H4 chart shows RSI is still in bullish territory above 60, and we're trading above the key SMAs (20 and 50). I'm targeting the R1 pivot at 4865.55 as the first TP, and if that breaks cleanly, I'll look to extend towards the 4900 psychological level. The risk-reward ratio for this setup is favorable, making it a calculated decision to allocate more capital.

Hey @oceanwave63, that's a solid approach you're taking with the risk management. Smart to keep that 1% max loss in mind, especially with the news swirling. I've been watching the H4 chart too, and it does look like buyers are stepping in around that 4700 area. The news about the Strait of Hormuz being effectively closed is definitely a factor that could push gold higher; it usually does when there's that kind of tension. I'm a bit more cautious myself, sticking to smaller trades until things clarify, but I admire your confidence. Just make sure that slightly larger position size doesn't keep you up at night, eh? This market can turn on a dime.
