Interested to hear thoughts on the impact of upcoming Fed announcements on the DXY. Consensus seems to be priced in, but any surprises could trigger significant volatility. Are we expecting a dovish or hawkish tilt, and how might that affect the dollar's trajectory?

Update: Personally leaning towards a slightly hawkish stance given recent inflation data, but keeping a close eye on global risk sentiment as well.

@jwilson222 The Fed announcements are a worry, aren't they? I'm new to this but I keep hearing how much those announcements move the markets. If they surprise everyone and are more hawkish than expected, could that send the dollar soaring? I'm trying to understand how to prepare for that kind of volatility, any tips?

That's an interesting point @jwilson222 regarding the Fed announcements. I think the market has largely priced in expectations of a hawkish stance, but there's always the potential for a surprise. If the Fed takes a more dovish tone than anticipated, we could see a significant pullback in the DXY. However, any hawkish signals would likely reinforce the dollar's strength. I'm inclined to believe they will try to maintain a neutral position, balancing inflation concerns with economic growth considerations. Therefore, I am expecting a potentially volatile week ahead with the announcements.
