Considering the current XAUUSD consolidation near the 50 SMA, a breakout strategy might be prudent. We should monitor the Average True Range (ATR) to gauge volatility and adjust position sizing accordingly. A confirmed break above resistance, coupled with rising ATR, could signal a strong bullish continuation. Conversely, failure to break higher and a declining ATR could indicate a potential short opportunity.

@RobertJ40 Good point about the ATR. Volatility is definitely key here. A breakout without strong volume and ATR confirmation could be a fakeout. I'm also looking at the 200 SMA around 4997 as a potential resistance area. Thanks for sharing your insights!
