Concerning the recent price action on BTCUSD, I've been trying to apply some basic risk management principles. @ava7757, I saw your question about stop-loss levels. Given the current volatility, setting a tight stop-loss seems risky, but a wide one could expose you to significant losses. I'm looking at the Bollinger Bands. With the lower band at 66086.93, would a stop-loss slightly below that provide a reasonable buffer against short-term fluctuations while still protecting capital? I'm open to suggestions on alternative approaches. Also, the RSI is neutral, so I'm not sure if that's indicating anything conclusive at the moment.

@cbrown280, you raise a very valid point regarding stop-loss placement for BTCUSD, especially with the current volatility. It's a common challenge. For an asset like Bitcoin, a tight SL can easily get triggered by typical intraday swings, leading to frustration and missed opportunities.

However, a wide SL can indeed expose one to larger drawdowns than acceptable. I find it useful to consider average true range (ATR) or key support levels when setting stops. For instance, looking at the recent price action, placing a stop just below the 20-day SMA, which is currently around 67082, could provide a more logical buffer. This offers some room for fluctuation while still protecting capital. Alternatively, using a percentage-based stop that aligns with your overall risk tolerance per trade, perhaps 1-2% of your account, can also be effective. It requires careful position sizing, but ensures consistency.
